Emily, Wellesley College, Class of 2014, middle class, straight, daughter of a Smithie, wearer of fake pearls and cheap cashmere, and an ally of all. Well, Ms. Spurzem, I am offended that you not only belittled your amazing alma mater, but dragged my wonderful Wellesley into your racist, homophobic, and elitist rant. We’re not all aspiring to be the “white, wealth, upper-class students from prep schools in cashmere coats and pearls who marry Amherst men” or Harvard men, or whatever rich, white man you can find. I’m spending my hard earned, financial aided tuition money on my education, just as the students of Smith do. Seven Sisters unite!
